Mentorship - 1st Year
What you get:
Hive set-up and walk through
Day 1 Package and/or Nuc installation
Day 2-4 Queen release and marking (if needed)
Day 10-12 Inspection and first oxalic acid treatment
6 monthly supervised inspections including honey removal and winter prep check-in (June through October)
2 Oxalic Acid Vapor Treatments in November and December
2 winter check-ins (February and March)
What you commit to:
1 time a month Ride-along (June-October) to help with and observe mentor’s hives during the times of Monday-Friday 7:30 am-3:30 pm
Purchase bee equipment, bees, PPE, and books
Reading Assignments
Join and attend local bee club meetings
Mentee is expected to do unsupervised inspections in between meetings with mentor

Mentorship - 2nd Year
(All visits and inspections are done at your beehive)

8 Monthly supervised inspections including swarm prevention, honey removal and winter prep check-in (April through October)
2 Oxalic Acid Vapor Treatments in November and December
